A while back at the museum of Art & Design I attended an exhibit on Additive manufacturing popularly known as 3d printing. While I had experience during my time in College I was intrigued by the applications this process could have on soft goods such as footwear & apparel in the sportswear Industry. Just to my luck I ended the tour with the opportunity to have my entire body scanned by the good people at Shapeways in Queens, NY. As an industrial designer it was fun see that 3D printing can be used for products that weren't just industrial or utilitarian, maybe action figures are next!
